The Storefront Gallery at 93 Broadway is pleased to feature the work of Jacquie Roland in a show titled, Airships, Angels and Octopi. The opening reception is Saturday, October 1 from 5-8pm.
Traditionally, October is the month of Witches and Vampires which usually elicits fear in young children. As a child, Jacquie Roland was afraid of neither. In fact, she was afraid of airships and aliens instead and later on, angels and then, strangely, octopi. This is a show about the nightmares she's been having for years. She tells us "I've been dreaming these things since I was three, and I've finally decided to share. Welcome to my nightmares."
